Isobel waddled pleasantly at Barnaby's side. Sometimes she would fall a little behind whilst observing a butterfly or bird in the sky, sometimes she would push ahead to view something of interest to her. But the AMPHAROS made sure to remain within a reasonable - in case, of course, she was needed to defend her trainer.

Barnaby himself was more vigilant than he normally was on trips to the Safari Zone. With his goal in mind, the ROCKET executive kept his head on a swivel, looking for any telltale signs of metal or grinding gears. What he didn't realize immediately was that he was being watched as well...

Neary invisible to the eye, a KECLEON skulked near the border of the woodland trail, blending in with its surroundings to a masterful degree. Where the eye couldn't see, however, sound gave it away. Isobel kept reacting to the snapping of twigs, the rustling of grass, the crunching of leaves off to her right. It was persistent enough that she alerted Barnaby to her concerns with a worried bleat.

He stopped. He looked - really looked. And what stood out to him was a band of red across the trunk of a tree. An obvious abnormality, once it was seen.

"Isobel, Signal Beam. We can't have this one interrupting our search."

The KECLEON was dispatched without issue. It had been bold enough to assume it's disguise had been perfect and wasn't able to scurry away in time before the SIGNAL BEAM stunned it and knocked it to the ground. A Safari Ball followed soon after, cinching the capture.

From the trees came a whooping cry. An ENCORE, apparently, from a heckling MANKEY jumping from limb to limb in the nearby canopy. Barnaby watched with an uninterested air, eyes half-lidded, arms folded across his chest. The MANKEY, in turn, appeared angered by the man's indifference. In fact, it became OUTRAGED and leapt forward to engage in battle.

Isobel didn't miss a beat. She quickly stepped in between Barnaby and the rampaging MANKEY, small currents of electricity running across her pink body. When the monkey barreled forward and struck a fist to her face, she shifted and took the hit to her shoulder. It was a painful blow - yet one that left the MANKEY paralyzed.

Seeing his opportunity, Barnaby lobbed another Safari Ball.

Another success! Not the Barnaby cared that much, though. A creature like MANKEY was far from what he considered the ideal Pokemon. Too barbaric, too hot-headed. It lacked in elegance to a degree that was almost unforgivable.

Still. He'd catch it, if only to possibly trade it away later for something more appropriate. In the meantime, he stowed the Safari Ball in his coat and continued in his hunt for KLINK.

Luckily he wasn't searching long. After exiting the forest and entering a more rocky, grassland area, Barnaby found the floating metal gears near an outcropping. He nodded for Isobel to take care of it - she knew what they were here for.

Before engaging, the AMPHAROS spent a moment CHARGING up her electrical energy. Then, when the surge reached its peak, electricity built in her fist and she rushed forward, THUNDER PUNCHING the KLINK before it even knew what hit it.
